Our Role
Y2Mate is a tool that allows users to convert publicly available YouTube videos into MP3 format. It is important to understand our position:
- We do not upload, host, or store any video or audio files
- We do not maintain a database of content
- We simply provide a conversion tool that users operate themselves
- All content originates from YouTube's servers
- Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to download content
User Responsibility
Users of Y2Mate are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring they have permission to download and convert content
- Complying with YouTube's Terms of Service
- Respecting copyright laws in their jurisdiction
- Using downloaded content only for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Not distributing copyrighted material without proper authorization
Copyright Infringement Notifications
If you believe that content accessible through Y2Mate infringes your copyright, please note that:
- The content is hosted on YouTube, not on Y2Mate servers
- You should file your DMCA complaint directly with YouTube
- Y2Mate has no control over content available on YouTube
However, if you believe Y2Mate's service itself violates your rights, you may submit a DMCA notice to us. To be effective, the notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
- Identification of the specific content that is infringing
- Contact information including address, phone number, and email
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
Counter-Notification
If you believe that content you posted was wrongly removed due to a DMCA notice, you may file a counter-notification. The counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the content that was removed
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the content was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your contact information
- A statement consenting to jurisdiction of federal court
Repeat Infringer Policy
Y2Mate respects copyright law and expects users to do the same. While we do not track individual users, we reserve the right to:
- Terminate access to users who repeatedly infringe copyrights
- Block access to specific content when legally required
- Cooperate with copyright holders and legal authorities
Fair Use
We encourage users to understand fair use principles:
- Educational purposes may constitute fair use
- Criticism and commentary may be protected
- Personal backup copies may be permitted in some jurisdictions
- Fair use laws vary by country and situation
Users should consult legal counsel if they are unsure whether their intended use qualifies as fair use.
Limitations of Liability
Y2Mate provides the conversion tool "as is" and:
- We are not liable for users' copyright infringement
- We make no warranties about the legality of downloading specific content
- Users assume all legal risks associated with their use of the service
- We recommend users obtain proper permissions before downloading content
Compliance with YouTube's Terms
Users should be aware that downloading content from YouTube may violate YouTube's Terms of Service unless:
- A download button is provided by YouTube for that content
- You have written permission from the copyright holder
- The content is in the public domain or under a permissive license
Changes to DMCA Policy
We reserve the right to modify this DMCA policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of Y2Mate after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
